This Year's Theme - Human Rights in Cyberspace

For the 10th Digital Be-In, we are working with the United Nations, Amnesty International, The Roosevelt Institute and the World Affairs Council on the 50th Anniversary of the UN Universal Declaration of Human Rights. The Be-In will be the kick off event for a year of Human Rights events in the Bay Area. The work of our editorial team (including members of the UN committee) will encompass the full spectrum of subject matter on this theme, including the role of cyberspace in increasing awareness of these issues. Past themes have included Freedom of Speech on the Internet (at the 8th, where we launched the Electronic Frontier Foundation's highly successful Blue Ribbon Campaign), and Cultural Diversity in Cyberspace (at the 9th).
