Hamza El Din

Hamza El Din is known internationally as one of the pioneers of 20th century World music. He was born in Nubia, in the Sudan, along the Nile River of Egypt, and is recognized as one of the first performers to bring non-western music to western audiences. For nearly 35 years, Mr. Din has expressed his roots in Nubian culture through music he has composed for his instrument, the Oud. His artistry, finely interwoven with devotion to his African homeland, has shaped the way we understand music; it has inspired audiences across five continents; and it has touched a universal center in so many people from vastly different worlds in the way that only music can.

The Digital Be-In is produced by Verbum, Inc. in conjunction with The Unity Foundation
