Quick Blips From Some Be-In Folks
Lisa Alpine
Elaine Kreston (a long-tressed goddess-type woman who asked me where i bought my fuax fur vest) : I am here to find out what's new. I want to make a difference in the world and use all my talent.
Jim Farnad (a quiet type in a baseball cap who wouldn't look me in the eye or smile.): I came with a friend who is exhibiting and the event is exactly what I thought it would be like. What do you mean? You know, just what I thought..."
David Collin (a handsome guy dressed in black with a black beret): I am here because I have created computerized animation that will be projected tonight. I have used new, very innovative software in designing my animation. The designer of the software, Eric Wenger, is from Paris and is here tonight."
Bruce Brugman (I picked him out of the crowd because he is tall and distinguished. This is before i found out who he was): I was invited as a speaker. I am the founder of the Bay Guardian. I will be speaking about the importance of the alternative press versus the mainstream monopoly papers. To me the key phrase is what Scoop Nisker said, "If you don't like the news, go make some of your own." That is what we are doing.
Lynn Bishop (a poncho-shrouded digital artist): I am here because the cyber culture is where it is at and I want to support it.
