Digital Be-In 12: Live Netcast

The digital carnival has rolled into town, paraded through the streets, and is setting up camp, pitching virtual tents and getting ready for the freaks. Only here the freaks won't be on display--they are the show. It's a cyber sideshow. People are setting up tables, exhibits, and altars. Music pumping. Computers are everywhere, so we know the digital part is here. Now we're waiting for the Be-in part. So many computers are hooked up downstairs on the floor and upstairs in Netcast Central that the network's bogging down. A giant screen hangs from the ceiling showing a live person interacting with avatars. It's a virtual reality. Or maybe it is reality. By the end of the night I suspect we won't know the difference. Or want to.
