In a sanctuary
surrounded by
amplifiers, laser
lights and visual
projections, and
celebrants at
the Ninth Annual
Digital Be-In, the
Digital Altar Room
provided an oasis
of calm. Pushing
past curtains into
a darkroom, our
eyes tracked tables
with altars along
the perimeter,
punctuated with
feathers, candles,
and neon. We sat on
the sofas clustered
in the middle of the
room and drank deep
of the reflective
mood. We invite you
to do the same.
around your
house, you'll
find your
altar, that
place where
you collect
symbolic
objects filled
with objects
meaningful
to you. Photos,
stones,
mementos--
mundane
in another
context but
transporting in
this arena--and,
perhaps, tokens
of your path
to greater
enlightenment.
