Neeli Cherkovski;
The author of nine books of poetry, including "Animal", his most
recent collection from Pantograph Books, Cherkovski is also known for his
critical memoir, "Whitman's Wild Children" and his biographies
of Lawrence Ferlinghetti and Charles Bukowski. Previous poetry books include
"Clear Wind", "Public Notice" and "Ways in the
Wood". His poetry and prose is published in German, French, Italian
and Spanish, and he writes on art and literature for "Cups". Cherkovski
is currently completing a new manuscript of poems, Toltec Stone, Mexican
Windows, and is working on a major anthology of Jewish-American writers
along with Joel Rosenberg of Tufts University.
