Bob Gelman in the middle of things, as usual.

Carla> Magenta, great trick with the candleabra, but you've had your sidecar ride. Give 'em up. So what's up, Bob, what would you be doing if you weren't here at the Be-In?

Bob> I can't be anywhere else on Be-In night Carla, I've been helping with it for years. It's become a addiction.

Carla> There could be worse addictions. Like belly dancers, for instance . . . so how do you see this Be-In thing, what is it all about for you?

Bob> How to interpret the Be-In idea . . . I was talking in the Digital Frontier about this, it's an idea that if actually followed through CAN make a difference. This is a great party, the Be-In. It's an example of what's working in the world. Like that thing at the Glide Memorial Church called Computers And You. It's a center for low income people which gives access to the net, empowers these people. They're narrowing the gap between the haves and haves not for the new millennium. If we don't pay attention to it none of this great art that we're putting together means anything. It's for all of us. All of us benefit or none of us benefit . . . and that's what the Be-In means to me.

Carla> That's a very nice sentiment. Anything else?

Bob> Well, I have to say, that friend of ours, Michael Gosney [Be-In Producer], how amazing he is, how he embodies the truth of what he preaches . . . There are a few thousand people out there having the time of their lives. I hear this is the best Be-In yet . . . you know, I'd like to sit here for a while longer . . . can I stay in this thing for a while? It's pretty comfy . . .
