There are so many abnormal things here at the Digital Be-In. It was nothing like I expected. I expected a big building (a hotel or something), something nice. I expected lots of computers and businesses with their booths set up all around the room, high-price dressed executives in suits; yeah right. "Where do these people shop at, Goodwill?" a friend of mine, Dameila, whispered to me.
I hadn't expected the alcohol, the cigarettes, which I hate with a passion. Some things were so outlandish that I don't even think anyone would have expected them. Like a men walking around in a see-through dress, or the woman who painted herself blue and pranced around in a dress made of computer hardware and peripherals.
This whole event was very interesting. I mean where else can you go and find a man on top of a beam, dressed in a cat suit who blows bubbles at you? When asked by my colleague, Matthew, how I would describe the event, the words "Indoor high-tech, Mardi Gras" came to mind. This was a night definitely to be remembered. It was like I was walking around in Berkeley or something. I guess what I'm basically trying to say is that at this place, anything was possible and that this wasn't just some exclusive event for high price-dressed up executives in a room full of PC's. This indeed was an Òindoor high-tech Mardi Gras." |
