The Be-In started in the minds of several people living in the San Francisco Bay area at the end of 1966 (or maybe it actually has more ancient origins?). The Human Be-In was held in Golden Gate Park on January 14, 1967. Something happened. The "counterculture" came together. A kind of magic emerged. And we are still trying to understand it.
