7 pm – 3 am PST
The “slurl” - location of the event in Second Life

Digital Be-In 15 will feature the release of a DVD and webcast documentary and media coverage of Digital Be-In 9 held, which featured an “Avatar Teleport” and a virtual world tie-in with Black Sun Interactive and other virtual world environments. See Bruce Damer’s Avatar Teleport – which was launched at that January 9, 1997 event.

Ten years later, the 2007 Digital Be-In is collaborating SFO Studios in launching the Virtual Be-In, an multimedia event in the online virtual world Second Life. The “slurl” - location of the event in Second Life, will be activated on April 21, 2007. The Biomimicry Symposium 7-9 pm PST will be streamed into Second Life, and many of the exhibits, presentation content and elements of the event will be represented in the Virtual Be-In. Other event features will be unique to the Virtual Be-In (including guest DJs from far lands and guest presenters). Video clips from the first life event will be uploaded and interaction between attendees at both events will mark the experience. A gallery from the Second Life event will be posted here after Earth Day weekend.

The Virtual Be-In was developed by Michael Gosney, producer; Michael Gaio art director; Bob Ketner, in-world producer; and Studio SFO. For more information contact michael@cyberset.cc.
